Requirements for renting a car with Hertz in Mexico
The minimum age to rent a car from Hertz Mexico is 18 years old. An additional fee will apply to young drivers between 18 and 24 years old.
Rates are subject to airport surcharges at airport offices and location fees at city offices.

Hertz Mexico reserves the right to accept the driver's license according to its established rules and to reject the rental if any of them are not followed.
Customers have the right to know what personal data we have, how we use it, and the conditions of use. It is also their right to request the correction of personal information if it is outdated, inaccurate, or incomplete; to have it deleted from our records or databases when they believe it is not being used properly; as well as to object to the use of their personal data for specific purposes. However, for certain legal obligations, revoking consent may mean that we cannot continue to provide the requested service, or the termination of the relationship with AVASA.
Credit or debit card in the name of the renter. This must be presented to initiate the rental. Accepted payment methods are: American Express, Visa, and Mastercard. Hertz Mexico reserves the right to accept or reject certain credit cards that are in poor condition or illegible.
Hertz Mexico reserves the right to refuse to rent a vehicle if some of our rental requirements are not met.

For your safety, we do not accept cash. We accept credit and debit cards as a form of payment (in the case of debit cards, an additional amount will be requested as a security deposit, and you must also have identification and a license from the same state).
Hertz Mexico accepts American Express, Visa, and Mastercard as credit and debit cards for both prepaid reservations and counter payment and rental security deposit.
The rental security deposit amount is deducted from the credit card limit, not the rate. At the end of the lease, we will deduct an amount equal to the rental fee from this preauthorization and then proceed to release the remaining amount. The level of protection or coverage you choose for your Hertz car determines the level of preauthorization of your credit.
Upon receiving the vehicle, Hertz Mexico will release the charge made to your card; the time it takes to have access to your funds will depend on the issuing bank of the card, provided that the Hertz vehicle is returned in the same mechanical, aesthetic, and functional conditions, as well as accessories, tools, and the items delivered to the customer, such as plates, keys, registration cards, or spare parts.
We offer a diverse range of protections for you to choose from, allowing you to select the one that best suits your needs. Your choice will determine the amount of the card preauthorization and your level of responsibility for Hertz rental cars.
